Homeopathy for anger.

Some homeopathic remedies for anger

Now, don’t get me wrong here. I am not advocating that you self-medicate with these remedies! It’s one thing taking remedies to deal with acute problems like coughs or travel-sickness. It’s easy for anyone to see whether the remedies are working or not in those situations, and you only need a little knowledge to work out how often to repeat and when to stop.
Dealing with long-term conditions is another thing altogether. Between the two of us, Tamzin and I have literally spent more than ten years training to be homeopaths, and most of that time was spent learning how and when to prescribe for chronic conditions, and how to assess remedy reaction. Believe me, it’s not easy!
I know that there is a common misconception that homeopathic remedies can’t make you ill - they either work or they don’t work. But in fact, the wrong remedy at the wrong time, or the right remedy repeated too often can cause nasty symptoms. So don’t treat yourself for long-term problems. Go and see a specialist!
Having said all that, there are many reasons why we wanted to write about homeopathic remedies for anger. First and foremost, one of the things we most love about our job is that we get to look in depth at the complex interplay between the emotional and physical body, which can be seen clearly in our clients first, and then in the descriptions (or provings) of our remedies. We wanted to share these remedy pictures with you to help you understand how homeopathy can help you, and because we think you are likely to see a remedy that describes something of you, perhaps helping you to understand your own process better. Or you may see a picture that describes your nearest and dearest! That’s always fascinating!
Anyway, here we go...
Nux vomica has got to be one of the grumpiest remedies in the homeopathic world. No, really. They are capable of complaining that you are making too much noise turning the pages of your book! Massively over-sensitive, they can’t take pain or being ill, and tend to find fault with everyone else. Road rage would be a real issue for them, as they are so impatient. Of course high blood pressure is likely to be a problem, along with stomach ulcers, heartburn and indigestion.
Lycopodium are pretty grumpy too. They are essentially a bit cowardly, so won’t argue with their unreasonable boss, but will come home and get angry with their children or their dog. They are difficult people to handle, as they are bossy but lack confidence, a problematic combination. They are very inclined to gut problems, alternating diarrhoea and constipation or IBS for example, or terrible flatulence.
Carcinocin is a remedy who feels angry but you’d never know it. They are dutiful and conscientious, sympathetic and responsible, and pretty much perfect in every way! They swallow their anger down and turn it on themselves, always blaming themselves and even going as far as self-harming or developing eating disorders. They get lots of headaches and chronic insomnia, although they won’t make a fuss.
Staphysagria is another remedy who struggles to express their anger. They get angry and don’t say anything, but then the angry thoughts start - they rant internally, sulk, get resentful, and generally make life hard for themselves. When they do express their angry they tend to over-react and then spend days beating themselves up, overwhelmed by feelings of shame. They get lots of heart problems, like palpitations and pain, and are terribly easily hurt.
Aurum is a perfectionist. They need their world to be perfect, and of course it never is, so they suffer terribly from disappointment. They veer between feeling suicidal and being enraged, particularly when they are contradicted. They are likely to be dutiful workaholics, with explosive fits of anger. Lots of heart symptoms, with irregular heartbeats, high blood pressure and angina.
Natrum muriaticum suffers terribly from all the injustice there is in the world. Nothing is fair, and they feel it strongly especially when it affects them. They get very irritable about the silliest things, but hate any sort of fuss, which makes them very awkward to deal with. They get lots of headaches and heartburn, a distended abdomen and even constipation, poor things.

Recognised anyone you know?!  Just remember to send them along to us!
